What happens when three old telephone booths are given new life and placed in the public space at Ljubljana’s Špica? They become a meeting point where young artists present their first exhibitions, and visitors encounter art, books, and everyday culture in a spontaneous way.
In 2021, Mladi zmaji, together with young people and partners – the Secondary School of Technical Professions Šiška, Ljubljana Tourism, the Botanical Garden of the University of Ljubljana, the Technical Museum of Slovenia, and the company Velog – renovated three booths donated by Telekom Slovenije. Through upcycling, they were transformed into spaces for creativity, literature, and dialogue.
The Inkubatorica Booth is a space for solo exhibitions by emerging artists entering the world of contemporary visual art. Each exhibitor invites the next one, creating a living artistic network.
The Stalnica Booth is a space where exhibitions unfold in sequence. Young artists install their works in dialogue with previous presentations, so the booth gradually grows into a collective story of response and co-creation.
The Knjigobežnica Booth is a book-exchange corner. Passers-by can take a book, leave one behind, or read on the bench nearby. It encourages reading, curiosity, and a culture of sharing.
Because no invitation is needed. You can see an exhibition, pick up a book, meet someone by chance, or simply pause and feel the space. The booths are like an open-air living room that invites you to stop and take part.
