The development of the professional field of youth work is an important pillar of the Young Dragons’ overall operation. As Slovenia’s largest youth centre, we feel a special responsibility to assist in the care of the youth sector. We are creating communities of professionals who support and learn from young people by providing education, professional meetings, and connecting with other sectors and areas.
What should leadership be based on in the 21st century? On love, compassion, and communication. Modern leadership, in our opinion, is one that works and is built on relationships. Beginning with how you treat yourself and guide yourself. In such a way that we can collaborate on mutual respect, values, and potential. Individual and group support for young people in Ljubljana, as well as professional support for youth workers of the Network of Youth Centres Ljubljana (MC LJ Network). To gain more knowledge in the field of psychosocial counselling in order to provide better conditions and more support to young people on their path to independence. We collaborate with related organisations and experts to provide young people with quickly accessible and free psychosocial support.
The annual youth mental health conference “Youth is (not) Madness” is an annual professional meeting where current topics in the field of youth mental health are discussed, while Young Dragons serve as hosts for the networking space of various experts working with young people.
