What do our volunteers say?
“As a volunteer at Young Dragons Črnuče this school year, I did mandatory optional content. I completed the Nature Photography project because I am visiting the photography department and am interested in photography. With this experience, I learned a lot and met new people, including those my age. I would recommend this method of completing mandatory optional content to all high school students.”
Lea Medica, completion of mandatory optional content
“With my internship at Young Dragons Črnuče, I finished my diploma in social work. If you are creative, athletic, open-minded, or think outside the box and want to work with children, Young Dragons is the organisation for you. I was most interested in music, so I joined the Young Dragons of Črnuče. However, you have many other options; choose the one that is best for you. I wholeheartedly recommend the Young Dragons! <3”
Suzanne Popelier, a student from Belgium
“At Young Dragons, I volunteer at the Borc Community Center. In less than a year of volunteering, I gained many new insights, discovered what I want to do with my life, and indirectly discovered what I don’t want, and a plethora of new opportunities opened up for me. Furthermore, volunteer work has convinced me to write a master’s thesis on this topic. So, in a way, volunteering motivated me to complete my studies. Maybe the only thing I regret is that I didn’t volunteer sooner :).”

“I’ve been volunteering at Young Dragons for 7 years. I took part in a variety of events and, in 2018, was named the Young Dragons’ best volunteer, receiving recognition from the country’s President. Later, based on my volunteer experience, I was hired in the field of education. I enjoy volunteering and assisting others; it gives me great joy to put a smile on people’s faces with my assistance.”

“I’ve been volunteering at Young Dragons since I was 17 years old. I’ve been the event’s grill master since the beginning of the Plata project – with football against discrimination. That’s how I keep track of everything, from cleaning the grill to making a grocery list. Barbecuing reminds me of my childhood, when my father and I baked food for the entire family, and it always brings me joy. I especially enjoy it when people gather around the fire, I serve them delicious food, and they complement me.”
